Ye is a remote, quaint town in Mon State, situated between Mawlamyine and Dawei
Similarly to Dawei, Ye only opened its doors to tourists in 2013.
What to do
Visit the beautiful Banana Mountain (Ko Yin Lai)
To observe the beautiful 4 sided Buddah Pagoda. If you can climb to the top, you can see a beautiful view of Ye.
A trip to Jaun Yua
Can include a wander around the remote and friendly village, a boat trip up the picturesque Ye River and a spectacular sunset visit to a hilltop pagoda.
Adjoining the bend in the river, there is a daily market, including the gold market. Stream upwards from the market, also on the shores of the river, there is a beautiful neighbourhood with wood carvers.
Where to stay
The terrace of the guesthouse has a beautiful view over the lake. During sunrise you can see the monks from the Monastery on the opposite site of the lake feeding the abundant fish.
